Ummi Shabrina, Misfocus, 2020, acrylic on canvas, 180 x 180 cm
Born in Amuntai, 1995
In my paintings, I often convey the themes related to home, family, hopes and thoughts which are presented in formal decorative forms with naive colors.
The colors that I use to play with are a combination of hot and cold colors, which I accordingly balance in a certain amount and proportion. Usually, the colors consist of 2 dark colors, 2 bright colors and 2 colors in between; the amount can be multiple but limited. The limited amount of color that I use aims to harmonize with the decorative style itself, so that it remains pleasing for your eyes to enjoy without feeling too crowded.
